The answer depends on what you’re eating, according to new research published in the Journal of the American Medical Association.

The research, which was led by researchers from The University of California at San Francisco, shows that while eating more moderate amounts of carbohydrates and fats can help to maintain a healthy weight, high intakes of protein and vitamin D can actually worsen the condition of obesity.
